Na-No-Intuit-Mo: Using your intuition to face a potential tragedy

20 November 2009 One Comment

I’m sitting here drinking a homemade honey latte with Sumatran coffee beans from World Cup Coffee. A place I hang a lot.

And I’m not feeling any doom. I’m feeling the buzz of busy.

But…the other day, I saw a lot of tragedy, potential tragedy, bad things happening.

And I saw a lot of fear.

And, it’s never easy to deal with tragedy, fear, ugly things looming on the horizon.

But, your intuition can be your friend here, if you can calm down and turn inward.

The question we’re going to ask is twofold: Am I going to experience this and what am I going to learn from it?

So, here’s a good example. Three years ago, my better half left his job and started a company to make biodiesel systems. The future looked very very very bright.

And 18 months later, the economy tanked, but not before we had invested about $80,000 in this endeavor. And, believe me, that wasn’t just money we had laying around. This was everything we had.

All of the available credit for the company’s customers dried up, and his business went with it.

We went from doing all right to really wondering how we were going to make our mortgage in the space of 3 months. Brian couldn’t find a job. I was getting us by on freelance work and being a pet psychic.

I thought we were going to lose our house.

I didn’t have the presence of mind to intuit much for myself.

My intuition said, “You’re going to be fine!”

I found it very hard to believe that voice. I turned to intuitive friends of mine. They, too, said, “Don’t worry. It’s going to work out.”

Then, Brian got a job. Things turned around. We have a new course.

I’m asking the question in hindsight, the question “What did I need to learn from that time of crisis?”

And the intuition is saying “We wanted you to experience the understanding that you are truly safe, even when you feel vulnerable.”

I’m not 100% what that means. Still Intuiting.

Try This:
If you have something looming on the horizon. If you are currently in crisis, go to a quiet place. Get quiet. Turn inward. Get that idea of doom that you’re worried about (am I going to lose my house? Is this cancer diagnosis the end of me? Am I going to be unemployed for much longer?). Put the idea squarely in your head.

Then ask, “Am I going to experience this?”
And if the answer is “Yes.” (And a real “yes” will sound loving, and not like a door slamming in your face), Ask- “What am I supposed to be learning from this?”

Listen closely. Because the answer will come. It will be positive.

It will not be anything about how wrongly you’re living your life or what a bad person you are.

And if the answer is “No.” , Believe it. Move on, with hope.

Much love to you, today.

    Simple. Concise. and True.
    Similar stuff on my end.
    Nearly identical responses.
Still reflecting on the learning message – but its getting clearer every day.
