Finding the time for mind/body/spirit integration

Last week,  I wrote about mind/body/spirit integration.  Today, we’re going to talk about how you find time for it.  I find it kind of hilarious that it took me five days to find the time to write this post.
The 3 keys to mind-body-spirit integration are presence, contemplation and attunement.
How do we find time for this?
Seriously?  We are very busy people.   We are too busy to list all the ways we are busy!
The trick to mind/body/spirit integration is to find ways to fit in into your day.
Practicing Presence Every …

Is my spirit making me fat?

really? Yes.

Your spirit can make you fat.

Yes. It can make you as big as a house.

The good news. You can integrate your body, mind and spirit to become really healthy. And for some, that means being smaller, and for some, it means feeling better about what you were born with.

And all of that is better than counting calories or feeling bad.

Waiting for the Right Time to Feel

Do you ever have that feeling in the morning, the  I just need to get through today feeling?
Do you see all the hurdles between you and a moment you look forward to?
Is this moment a weekend? A vacation? A moment when the sun goes down, and the dishes are done and you can pause before your next act of living?
And then perhaps,as you go about your busy day,  a little bomb is dropped.
An anger, a frustration, a sadness, a realization?
Something you must think about, but you don’t have time, …

Feelings are Not Pizza Toppings- Safely Handling Emotions Pt. 2

Yesterday, we started the Safely Handling Your Emotions Series with identification. What do I feel?
Did you feel one thing? Or many?  Was it hard to distill it to one emotion?
Life is Jumbled.
Not only do we multi-task,  I’d venture that we multi-emotion.  We find a way to feel angry at our spouse and also blissed at the cat at the same time.  How do we do this? Is this a sign of our current age?
We like our emotions to be like our movies and our meals.  We like them predictable.  We …

How to Safely Handle Our Emotions…Pt. 1

This is a many-part series about How to Safely Handle Emotions.
There’s a look I see in women’s faces, sometimes in men too. It’s the face of control.  Perhaps it’s the tension in the jaw. There is something about the set of the cheekbones.
When I see this face, I see someone who is very good at keeping it together.
So Good at Control
We are very good at controlling our emotions.  Until we’re not.

We are very good at hiding our anger, frustration, angst, anxiety.  It’s like putting 10 lbs. of misery in a …

Sometimes, when working to heal a client, I come across a block that is very hard to budge.
This is what happens-
I’m directed to a chakra by Creator.
I see a problem.
It could look like thorns cutting into the heart chakra, or a dull dormant grey space where the root chakra should be, where I would expect to see vibrant red.
And I will ask “What is wrong here?”
The energetic body of the person will say, “I am ashamed.” or “I am unlovable.” or “Everything I do turns to shit.”
It will be a …

It’s early in the morning, and it’s completely dark. I’m sitting in my office, which has 3 large windows looking Southwest over the Hillsdale neighborhood of Portland.
On summer evenings, these windows frame Maxfield Parrish pink skies.  But right now, they are reflecting my domestic scene, as the sky has not even begun to lighten.

In the Dark
Sometimes we enter into a long night of work, of illness, of grief, of the unknown. We may be enjoying a summer evening, and then the long night creeps up.
It seems to span on forever. …

My family hails from above the arctic circle.  My mother has the jet black hair of Laplanders.
In Norway, above the arctic circle, the sun goes down in November, and doesn’t peep back up until sometime in January.  It is a long nighttime journey.
Even here, at the 45th parallel, right between the equator and the north pole, the sky goes dark in the very early evening, and the night is long.

What is Dark?
Is Dark Bad?
What is the purpose of being out of the light?
We’re going to explore darkness and light this …

Okay, so we’ve talked about intuition for the big things…and intuition for the hard things…let’s talk about intuition for the small things…
This is the most exciting intuition for me, some days, because it is an immediate validation of my mad gifts.
And also… because it makes life that extra 10% better.

So, intuition for small things…like picking the best fruit or picking the best thing to eat on a menu (notice all this food stuff), or finding parking…
You are going to use the same technique we’ve used all month:  Take a deep …
