This morning, at a very early hour, I sat tonglen over feelings of lack and the confusion that goes along with it.
I’m not feeling that way, but I know a few people who are. In fact, everywhere I turned this week, I heard a story about not having enough.
I thought you might want to see tonglen in action. Okay, I look really tired, but it’s me.
And, then here’s Olive, my dog, thinking that I’m talking about tongue-len instead of tonglen.
Oh that silly …

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I’m a mama twice and a step-mama once, and I’m making shaker lemon pie.
Shaker lemon pie got me thinking about life giving me lemons, and how sweetness can make nearly any lemon more palatable.
In this video, I’m talking about these things, and eating a lemon… Hope you enjoy it!

Hey! I’m back from Hawaii. It is awesome. My mouth hurts from smiling.
I spent a lot of time on the beach, of course. I just don’t have words for most of what I learned. I think that’s a good thing.
This is a post about Makapu’u beach, where the waves crash right on shore.
Big Mahalo to the teenagers who helped us play with the waves there!
How we meet the wave colors our experience of the wave, turns foe into friend, turns obstacle into experience. Facing it, fighting it, turning sideways, turning away, going under and into it, standing on the shore, it’s all in how we meet it.

As an intuitive, I work with energy all of the time. I am often working in somebody’s energetic body, and I tend to leave a little bit of my energy behind, so by the end of the week, I’m exhausted.
I do not know an intuitive that doesn’t struggle with energetic depletion. Scratch that, I don’t know a person who doesn’t struggle with energetic depletion. We wipe ourselves out.
Here’s an easy technique for bringing that energy back, courtesy of Becca Seitz.

Last week, I wrote about mind/body/spirit integration. Today, we’re going to talk about how you find time for it. I find it kind of hilarious that it took me five days to find the time to write this post.
The 3 keys to mind-body-spirit integration are presence, contemplation and attunement.
How do we find time for this?
Seriously? We are very busy people. We are too busy to list all the ways we are busy!
The trick to mind/body/spirit integration is to find ways to fit in into your day.
Practicing Presence Every …

Do you ever have that feeling in the morning, the I just need to get through today feeling?
Do you see all the hurdles between you and a moment you look forward to?
Is this moment a weekend? A vacation? A moment when the sun goes down, and the dishes are done and you can pause before your next act of living?
And then perhaps,as you go about your busy day, a little bomb is dropped.
An anger, a frustration, a sadness, a realization?
Something you must think about, but you don’t have time, …

Yesterday, we started the Safely Handling Your Emotions Series with identification. What do I feel?
Did you feel one thing? Or many? Was it hard to distill it to one emotion?
Life is Jumbled.
Not only do we multi-task, I’d venture that we multi-emotion. We find a way to feel angry at our spouse and also blissed at the cat at the same time. How do we do this? Is this a sign of our current age?
We like our emotions to be like our movies and our meals. We like them predictable. We …

This is a many-part series about How to Safely Handle Emotions.
There’s a look I see in women’s faces, sometimes in men too. It’s the face of control. Perhaps it’s the tension in the jaw. There is something about the set of the cheekbones.
When I see this face, I see someone who is very good at keeping it together.
So Good at Control
We are very good at controlling our emotions. Until we’re not.
We are very good at hiding our anger, frustration, angst, anxiety. It’s like putting 10 lbs. of misery in a …
